Presiding Elder Tyson J. Parks is the eldest son of seven children born to his parents Tyson and Ceola Parks. He is married to Pearly M. Lowery- Parks of Kansas City, Mo. He is the proud father of four sons and grandfather of six grandsons.
Presiding Elder Parks has served at many Illinois Churches in the A.M.E. in Rock Island, Jacksonville, Galesburg, Kewanee, and Danville Illinois. He was appointed Presiding Elder of the North District during the 134th Session of the Illinois Annual Conference. Presiding Elder Parks is also the founder and CEO of a non-for-profit affordable housing initiative and development corporation which is called Jesus Christ Inside Out (JCIO). The name is based on Romans 12:1, 2.
He serves as past Chairman of the State Board of Illinois, One Family One Child that is the number one adoption agency for foster care in the country. Presiding Elder Parks currently serves on numerous community boards, which include Blacks in Government (BIG) and Martin Luther King Celebration Committee for the City of Danville. He is the past President of the NAACP Danville Charter. Presiding Elder Parks has received many community awards for his dedication to the well being of others and outstanding service to the community.
Presiding Elder Parks is a graduate of Moline High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the Illinois Baptist College and received his Master of Divinity from Master’s International School of Divinity in Evansville Indiana.
Presiding Elder Parks is committed to the service of soul saving in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is a presiding elder with a vision and is truly focused on taking the church to the next level of praise and worship.
